Are there 2 different ways to write 'awhile'
and if so, when is each used?
awhile          -is used as an adverb (describes the how, when, etc. of a verb)
                         e.g./ Shall we rest
awhile before putting away the camping
                                    equipment?
                 -awhile tells
how long we rest

a while          -is part of a noun phrase and comes after the preposition  for or in:
                         e.g./ Shall we rest here
for a while before going home? or
I would like to put the camping equipment away in
a while; I am too tired now.
